education
The Department of Natural Resources has a vibrant teaching program, at both
the undergraduate (BS)
and
graduate
levels (PhD, MS, MPS). Education in our Department is
strongly multifaceted: our 'classroom' is
anything from a room with blackboards and desks, to the offices of a
legislator in Washington, knee deep in a river catching fish, or puzzling
over a computer screen.

research
Research in the Department of Natural Resources ranges from basic ecological science,
to considerations of policy
and economic aspects of resource conservation and management. The
multidisciplinary nature of applied work is well evident as a balance of
fundamental, basic research on ecological and environmental principles,
combined with consideration of application(s) of what we have learned in
a broader, applied context.
