Chuck's second cooperator is a private forest owner and part time farmer, Jack Lauder, who is conducting an improved sugar maple trial. In addition to his regular job, Jack manages a farm that has been family owned for about 100 years, raising corn, oats, wheat, red kidney beans and Holstein heifers. At one time, the farm included a maple syrup operation, and when he retires, Jack plans to re-establish it.
