Areas on the island of Hawaii (the Big Island) containing from one to four endangered species are shown in red. As the movie proceeds, it becomes clear that the reserves (shown in green) do not coincide very well with the habitats of these species. This is valuable information to include in future planning efforts. The same process will soon be applied to New York. Currently, the GAP analysis group is working to refine and test their models.
