Research Support Specialist (11/86-Present) - Dep. of Nat. Resour., Cornell University--Conduct and analyze studies dealing with human (individual and organizational) aspects of natural resource management, especially as they relate to wildlife, fisheries, and forests. Responsible for: study planning; collection of data and immediate supervision of data collection; data analysis and preparation of unit publications, agency reports, and journal articles; presentation of research findings to funding agencies and professional and lay audiences.
Research Assistant (4/86 - 10/86) - Missouri Dep. of Conservation (MDC)--Conducted a mail survey to assess wildlife-related attitudes of Missouri primary school educators who used educational materials developed by the MDC. Responsible for: study planning; instrument development; collection of data; data analysis; manuscript development; and presentation of findings at a national meeting of wildlife management professionals.

My responsibilities included: lab preparation; examination development, examination and term paper grading; preparation and presentation of lecture material.
Range Technician (5/83 - 8/83) - U.S. Forest Service, Creede. CO.--I assessed grazing allotments for forage status and availability, monitored livestock deliveries for compliance with animal unit limits, and assisted with allotment maintenance activities (e.g., fence construction, installation of water lines, construction of watering stations, timber slash removal).
Recreation Technician (5/82 - 8/82) - U.S. Forest Service, Creede. CO.--I was responsible for maintenance activities in all forest district campgrounds. My duties included collection of campground refuse and general maintenance of several district buildings. The position required extensive driving (over 100 miles per day) and self supervision.
Wildlife Technician (5/81 - 8/81) - Missouri Dep. of Conservation (MDC)--I provided general farm-related labor on an upland wildlife refuge specialized to enhance production of white-tailed deer and turkey. My responsibilities included: plowing, disking, planting and fertilizing 1 to 5-acre food plots, maintenance of forest opening by mowing, and miscellaneous building, grounds, and fence maintenance. In addition to these activities, I participated several special projects, including: an Ozark glade study, fawn mortality study, and Canada goose relocation project.
