Jim Gillett joined the Department of Natural Resources in 1983. He conducts research in Environmental Toxicology and Risk Analysis, Communication & Policy and pursues questions such as: What exposure do people and wild species have through the food web and drinking water? What tests might be applied to toxic chemicals, genetically modifed organisms, and other human activies to resolve uncertainties about risks?

Research

His current research examines (i) food web dynamics of persistent organic chemicals, (ii) evaluation of citizen participation in environmental regulation, and (iii) adapting ecological risk assessment paradigms to other areas of decision making.
