Kraft studies ecosystem interactions that influence the management of freshwater fish populations in lakes and rivers -- with an emphasis on Adirondack ecosystems. His research efforts involve large-scale and small-scale experimental manipulations, as well as taking advantage of natural experiments that can help identify key ecosystem processes.

Research

Kraft's current research interests address: 1) Landscape influences on stream biota and habitats, 2) Food web interactions in Adirondack lakes, 3) Factors influencing thiamine deficiency in fish, and 4) Conservation and restoration of native coldwater fish communities.
