Stephen Childs joined the Department of Natural Resources in 2004. He conducts extension to maple producers and conducts applied research in maple production, marketing and business management.
Research
His current extension focuses on training county extension educators to do maple related extension as well as education programs for maple producers and beginners.
Extension
Steve is currently planning three major applied research projects with maple team members and maple producers. First, tubing system evaluation and improvement. Second, maple quality control evaluation and management. Third, maple product development and test marketing.
