Nancy Trautmann joined the Department of Natural Resources in 2003 after two decades with Cornell's Center for the Environment. She leads Environmental Inquiry (http://ei.cornell.edu) and Cornell Science Inquiry Partnerships (http://csip.cornell.edu), which aim to enrich high school and middle school science by engaging students in authentic scientific research.

Research

Her interests focus on: (1) developing and assessing techniques for engaging students and teachers in scientific investigations and other forms of inquiry-based learning, (2) supporting effective university science outreach, and (3) exploring potential roles of the Internet in supporting collaborative learning among student scientists.
