Dan's additional activities:
Continued planning extended summer visit to Acadia National Park
to work with natural resource management staff on wildlife issues
(deer and beaver); to help establish a “visiting scientist program”
associated with the Schoodic Education and Research Center (science
and learning center); and to develop research needs assessment (research
agenda) for HD of wildlife management.
Continued to work with BRMD staff on disposition of papers from
the 2005 TWS Conference symposium on wildlife habituation. The “special
section” idea is being abandoned due to lack of submissions,
and instead stand-alone papers are being reviewed.
Developed a proposal for spring '07 sabbatical leave and summer '07 on-site visit with BRMD in Fort Collins to work further on human dimensions of wildlife disease management and other issues of interest to BRMD. Preliminary university approval and official invitation from BRMD were secured.
Kirsten's additional activities:
Committee meeting.
Presented results of Phase IIIA data, “Deer, People and Parks:
A ‘Wicked’ Wildlife Management Problem” at Society
for Conservation Biology annual meeting.
Processing of data collected in Phase IIIA research continued-interview transcription, reviewing transcribed interviews for accuracy, coding data in ATLAS.ti.
