The Policy Brief assignment asks students to work in small groups to prepare an oral and written summary of information relevant for policy decision-making on a topic of their choice. The briefs analyze contemporary environmental policy issues through the analytic perspectives reviewed in the course. A brief is a short analytic paper that summarizes essential information in a manner that allows readers to weigh alternative courses of action on a specific question.
